About the event
Join local geologist Harvey DuChene for a hands-on introduction to the geology of the Lake City area at the Hinsdale County Museum. This interactive class teaches participants how to identify common rocks and minerals found along the Alpine Loop and surrounding region, while building a foundational understanding of how they formed.
With a small group setting, participants will work directly with samples and gain practical skills they can take with them into the field.
