Weekly Stargazing
Slumgullion Pass
Every Tuesday, June 16 - Aug 25
8:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Experience the magic of truly dark skies in Colorado’s Lake Fork Valley. Set beneath some of the darkest skies in the lower 48, our weekly stargazing gatherings offer a chance to slow down, look up, and reconnect with the cosmos. Located in a designated International Dark Sky region with exceptional Bortle Class 1 conditions, guests can often see the Milky Way stretching overhead, along with planets, constellations, and other celestial wonders—often with the naked eye.
Whether you’re a curious first-timer or a seasoned skywatcher, these relaxed, community-focused evenings invite you to explore the night sky through guided observation, storytelling, and shared wonder in a truly unforgettable alpine setting.
The location is at the decommissioned Slumgullion Campground on County Road 50 (the Deer Lakes Road), near the top of Slumgullion Pass. Turn on CR 50 and go down the hill to the parking area near the outhouse.
