Weekly stargazing events are held

EVERY WEDNESDAY EVENING

during summer months at Windy Point Overlook.

What does that mean? For starters, it means that we can see the milky way. The remoteness of Lake City comes with several benefits, such as peace and solitude, but we're here to champion what it comes without, light pollution. The Lake Fork Valley is home to some of the darkest skies on the planet, making this an ideal destination for both professional astronomers and casual stargazers.

But It doesn't stop there because conservation work doesn't end when the sun goes down. In fact, that just when the fun is getting started. Here at the LFVC, we understand the importance of protecting the darkness for the betterment of nocturnal wildlife.
